NYAPC choir goes down to the river

On Sunday, March 30th, the choir hosted a guest men's choir from Limburg, Germany. The music was magnificant, and in the afternoon we took them for a boat ride. The cherry blossoms were in bloom, and although it was cold much fun was had by all! We look forward to another choir boat trip soon...

Schedule for Lent and Easter

Good morning fellow choristers! Please check out the updated choir calendar in the column on your right...keep looking...that's it...not too far down...okay, you see it!

Also, thanks very much to those who volunteered to keep some of the German students, but they will be staying on campus with George Mason students. However, we will be hosting them for breakfast on Sunday, February 23 at 9:30 a.m. So please come up and have a bagel before choir rehearsal at 10:15 a.m. Don't forget that we will perform one of the Duke Ellington Sacred Service works with the choir.

Stay warm and have a great week. See you Thursday!

So Much To Say

Hello fans of the NYAPC Choir! Can I get a "whoop-whoop?!"

I think that we've been doing a great job with our pieces the last couple of Sundays: connecting with the audience, uh I mean, congregation, and working more on our diction and dynamics. Please do your best to continue to come to rehearsals and, of course, services. One voice can make such a difference.

This week, we've updated the blog to include a lot of performances happening at the church and in the surrounding community.

Please remember that we're welcoming the Berlin Musikhochschule Jazz Choir during the 11:00 a.m. worship service on February 24. On Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m., they will be presenting Duke Ellington's Sacred Service at the Vienna Baptist Church, 541 Marshall Road, SW, Vienna, Va. This is a free concert and features choir, soloists, tap dancers, and jazz orchestra.

See you Thursday!
