Offenbach’s satirical opera makes fun of the myth of Orpheus & Eurydice and 

of societal convention: When Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld, kidnaps Euridyce, 
Orpheus is delighted, as he no longer loves her! However, Public Opinion dictates 
he must go to her rescue … The gods of Olympus, bored with their exalted 
existence, intervene, and everybody goes to Hell!

We're Back!

It's been quite a while since we've posted to the choir blog, but I wanted to share some photos from the 1st NYAPC caroling venture. Several of us visited Ingleside (a local nursing home) and sang for NYA members and strangers alike. Much fun was had by all! We are hoping to turn this into a Christmas tradition for the choir and to visit homebound NYA members in other places as well. Stay tuned!

On a sad note, this turned out to be our last visit with Betty Jackson, who died 10 days after this photo was taken. May God bless her and keep her and all who grieve for her.
